Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Muhammad Inam, trading as Paws & Nest ("we", "us"), collects and uses your personal data when you visit our website or buy from us. We follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Who is responsible for your data

What we collect
- Order details: name, delivery and billing address, email, phone number (for the courier) and what you bought.
- Payment details: handled securely by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or our contact form.
- Website data: device, browser, IP address and pages viewed, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies below).
- Marketing preferences: whether you've agreed to receive our emails.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To process and deliver your order and handle returns (performance of a contract).
- To keep records for tax and accounting and to meet consumer law (legal obligation).
- To prevent fraud, keep the site secure and improve our shop (legitimate interests).
- To send marketing emails (your consent; see below).
Marketing emails
We'll only send you marketing emails if you've opted in, for example by ticking the box at checkout or signing up to our newsletter, as PECR requires. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email or by emailing us. We'll still send service emails about your orders.
Who we share it with
We only share what's needed, with companies that process data on our behalf under contract:
- Shopify, which hosts our shop and processes order and customer data as our data processor.
- Payment providers (e.g. Shopify Payments, PayPal).
- Our product suppliers and their UK warehouses (including Syncee and the UK suppliers we connect to through it, such as Red Hamper and Universal Sale), who send orders directly to you and receive your name, delivery address and phone number.
- Couriers who deliver your parcel.
- Our email service (Shopify Email), if you've subscribed.
We never sell your personal data.
International transfers
Some providers, including Shopify, may process data outside the UK (for example in Ireland, Canada or the USA). Where this happens, transfers are protected by UK adequacy regulations or approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Cookies
We use essential cookies so the shop works (for example, your basket). We only use analytics or marketing cookies if you agree to them through our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for 6 years after the end of the financial year, for tax reasons. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Other enquiries are kept for up to 2 years.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its use, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@pawsandnest.co.uk. We'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
